Join us next Thursday, April 2nd, at Texas Roadhouse in Richmond for a great meal that gives back! When you show the flyer, 10% of your total food purchase will be donated to support our JAG program.
JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) helps prepare students for life after high school by building leadership, career readiness, and real-world skills for success in the workplace.
This is a great opportunity to help support one of our school's most impactful programs, and have a great dinner in the process!
We hope to see you there! Thank you for supporting our students, Berea families!

Last night our Ballpark was busy as fans came out to cheer on Berea, Lincoln County, and Clark Moores. Both our middle and high school teams hit the field for some of their first games of the season, an exciting start to spring softball!
Longer evenings, greener grass, and a great crowd to support our student-athletes, that's spring sports for you! We're excited to spend more nights out at the Ballpark this spring.
Be sure to come out and catch more of the action tomorrow! Our middle school team is playing back at home, and our high school team heads to Danville tomorrow afternoon. Let's cheer on our Pirates!

With the April 30 deadline approaching, we’re closing in on 2nd place on the Medium KY Schools leaderboard, and every can counts as we push toward the finish!
Since October, schools across Kentucky have recycled an incredible 463,225 aluminum cans. Such an incredible way to stay mindful of our waste and bring our school communities together.
Let’s keep the momentum going, save your empty aluminum cans and drop them off at the school to help Berea finish strong!

This week, we're celebrating senior Alan Garcia!
Alan has been a student at Berea for 12 years, 7 of which he's been in classes from one of his favorite teachers, Mr. Barnhill. One of Alan's favorite memories was senior dare night at the beginning of his senior year.
After graduation, Alan plans on either going to college or joining the workforce full time.
Let's all wish Alan the best of luck with his plans after graduation, we can't wait to see all the great things he accomplishes! 🎓

It's thanks to partners like these that we're able to grant our students these meaningful opportunities to grow, succeed, and push their boundaries outside of the classroom. It makes such a big difference in our school community.
We're excited to cheer on our FCCLA students as they head to their State Leadership Conference! Let's go, FCCLA! 🎉

Good luck to our HS Baseball team this week as they play in the All A Regional Tournament at Legends Field in Lexington.
Good luck to ALL of our teams and coaches this week! Go PIRATES!!

Our new Boys High School Soccer Coach, Jake Partin, will be hosting an open field training session this Sunday the 22nd from 3:00-4:00 PM!
This is a great opportunity for any students interested in playing soccer to come out, meet Coach Partin, and get some time on the field. All are welcome.
We hope to see you there!

All day long, our elementary Pirates enjoyed a rotation of activities in Conkin Gym as a reward for their fantastic third grading period. Students enjoyed a version of musical chairs, corn hole, the fan favorite bouncy slide, and a number of treats and prizes. Everyone had an amazing time!
A huge thank-you to our high school helpers for handing out snacks and supervising activities, and to our incredible elementary staff for keeping everything running smoothly.
What a great day to be a Pirate!

This week, Berea College Student Craft Outreach made a visit to Ms. Holland's high school Geometry class for a lesson on ceramic pottery! With support from Program Director Steve Davis-Rosenbaum and a team of Student Craft Educators, students practiced applying the class's geometry lessons to the process of creating ceramic mugs, taking measurements and calculate volume, circumference, and shrinkage after they finish.
It’s one thing to learn geometry on paper, but experiences like this bring those concepts to life. Students worked with real materials, solved practical challenges, and saw firsthand how math plays a role in our everyday lives. These kinds of projects help build problem-solving skills and confidence that they'll take with them far beyond the classroom.
We are so thankful for this wonderful partnership with our neighbors right up the hill at Berea College. We couldn't be more excited to offer our students this hands-on experience, learning from experts, and applying their skills to make one-of-a-kind works of art (and math!). Thanks to their generous support, all instruction and materials are offered at no cost to students.
We can’t wait to see how these projects turn out!

Your input is valued and will guide this important decision.
Please complete the survey by Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:59 PM. The survey will close at midnight.
Thank you for your time and continued support of Berea Community Elementary.

First Gameday of the Season for Pirate Softball! 🥎
Our Pirate Softball Team is kicking off the season tonight! Come out and support our players at 6:30 as they take the field for their first game against Menifee County.

On March 12th and 13th, three of our 8th grade students participated in the KMEA District 11 All-District Band:
Arin Garrett-Clarinet, Symphonic Band
Isaiah Hackett-Baritone, Concert Band
Noah Moreland-Percussion, Concert Band
These students were selected based on their auditions in January where they competed against students from Madison and surrounding counties.
We're so proud of these amazing students, their skills shine bright, and reflect the amazing talent and dedication coming out of our music department. A huge congratulations goes out to them for their achievement! 👏

What a great evening at our Mental Health Night yesterday! From start to finish, the energy was positive, welcoming, and full of connection.
Students and families explored a variety of interactive stations focused on supporting mental health and overall well-being across Berea Community. It was inspiring to see so many people come together to learn, share, and support one another.
We had surprise appearances from Alfonzo the Pirate, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and even the Easter Bunny!
A big thank-you to Penn Station for the delicious catering, and to our dedicated volunteers from BCS and Berea College who helped everything run smoothly. And a very special shoutout to our amazing ACCESS Team for organizing such a meaningful event and for the ongoing care they show our students and staff every day.

Each month, the Anchor of Excellence recognition will honor two Certified Employee and two Classified Employees, highlighting the outstanding work happening across our district and celebrating staff members who consistently go above and beyond for students, colleagues, and our school community.
This month's first recipient is Mr. Daniel Morris, who consistently serves all students with patience, care, and unwavering dedication. He works closely with teachers and families to ensure students receive the support they need, and builds strong relationships with those students and parents through consistent communication. Daniel has created a space where students who feel overwhelmed can reset, regain control, and return to learning, this support not only benefits the individual student but helps classrooms remain focused on instruction. He leads a team that supports students from Kindergarten through 5th grade, and often goes above and beyond, staying late or coming in on weekends to ensure every students needs are met. Through his grace, humor and consistency, Daniel makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the students he serves.
Next we'd like to recognize Ms. Kristi Baker. Kristi is someone who works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly. She starts her mornings early ensuring classrooms are filled with substitute teachers and communicates critical information that helps the day run effectively. In addition to those responsibilities, Kristi serves as Assistant Athletic Director, coaches, and is always willing to step in wherever help is needed. She is dependable, supportive, and a trusted resource for both staff, and students. While her work may not always be visible, the truth is our school would not function the same without her dedication and commitment to excellence.
Nathan Sweet was due to receive a recognition as well, but due to illness it will be delayed.
Our final recipient this month belongs to Ms. Emma Fraley. Ms. Fraley models excellence every day both inside and outside the classroom. She creates strong relationships with students, and fosters a welcoming classroom environment where every student feels safe, supported and challenged to succeed. Her engaging instruction, and attention to student needs, helps learners grow academically, and personally. Beyond the classroom, Emma contributes in many ways, from coaching, to helping plan activities that build positive culture across our school. Emma is always willing to lend a helping hand, and greet others with a smile, and she truly represents the spirit of Pirate Pride.
Congratulations to all of our Anchor of Excellence recipients, we couldn't be more grateful for everything you invest in our schools and communities.

We’re proud to recognize our amazing BCHS juniors for completing their State SAT School Day exam last week! This marks the first year Kentucky juniors have taken the SAT instead of the ACT during school. Students had the opportunity to send their scores to up to four colleges or universities for free, giving them a head start on that college search, and preparing them for their upcoming senior year.
To celebrate this accomplishment, our administrative team treated juniors to a well-deserved ice cream party yesterday! Students went to town making sundaes and treats and enjoying a break in their school day.
A big thank you to Dr. Neaves, Mr. Tim Molton, Ms. Christine Knight, and Board Member Ms. Sarah Rohrer for serving up the ice cream, and to Ms. Caldwell, and all our BCHS faculty and staff for preparing and supporting our students every step of the way.
Good work Juniors, we couldn't be more proud of all your hard work! 🎉

Conkin Gym was full of energy on Friday as our elementary Pirates took part in the Kids Heart Challenge! Every corner of the gym featured a different obstacle course or activity, giving students the chance to get active, build strength, and have lots of fun all along the way of course.
From the bouncy obstacle course to jump rope stations, students rotated through a variety of heart-healthy exercises while learning the importance of staying active. Fan favorites included the classic scooter race, or the ever-popular bouncy obstacle course, but either way students loved spending some meaningful time outside of their classrooms getting active with friends.
We'd like to thank all of our amazing helpers from the high school, and Ms. Kidd, and all of our BCES faculty and staff who kept the day running smoothly!

Stop by for engaging hot-topic informational sessions and connect with a variety of community vendors and resources dedicated to helping families experience More Good Days Together.
Enjoy prizes, games, and fun activities happening throughout the school—there’s something for everyone!
Bring the whole family and come be part of a great evening. We can’t wait to see you there! 🎉
