This week, we're celebrating senior Samone Burgess!
Samone has been a student at Berea for 4 years, creating memories she won’t forget, like her FCCLA trip when they “got security called on us for being too loud!”
Some of her favorite teachers over the years have been Mrs. Caudill, Ms. Natasha, and Mrs. Graham, Samone shared that they “constantly remind me of the woman I want to become and always push me to be the best I can be.” She says she’ll always cherish their support and encouragement.
After graduation, Samone plans to attend college and major in biology.
Let's all wish Samone the best of luck with her plans after graduation, we can't wait to see all the great things she accomplishes! 🎓

Last night our Ballpark was busy as fans came out to cheer on Berea, Lincoln County, and Clark Moores. Both our middle and high school teams hit the field for some of their first games of the season, an exciting start to spring softball!
Longer evenings, greener grass, and a great crowd to support our student-athletes, that's spring sports for you! We're excited to spend more nights out at the Ballpark this spring.
Be sure to come out and catch more of the action tomorrow! Our middle school team is playing back at home, and our high school team heads to Danville tomorrow afternoon. Let's cheer on our Pirates!

It's thanks to partners like these that we're able to grant our students these meaningful opportunities to grow, succeed, and push their boundaries outside of the classroom. It makes such a big difference in our school community.
We're excited to cheer on our FCCLA students as they head to their State Leadership Conference! Let's go, FCCLA! 🎉

This week, Berea College Student Craft Outreach made a visit to Ms. Holland's high school Geometry class for a lesson on ceramic pottery! With support from Program Director Steve Davis-Rosenbaum and a team of Student Craft Educators, students practiced applying the class's geometry lessons to the process of creating ceramic mugs, taking measurements and calculate volume, circumference, and shrinkage after they finish.
It’s one thing to learn geometry on paper, but experiences like this bring those concepts to life. Students worked with real materials, solved practical challenges, and saw firsthand how math plays a role in our everyday lives. These kinds of projects help build problem-solving skills and confidence that they'll take with them far beyond the classroom.
We are so thankful for this wonderful partnership with our neighbors right up the hill at Berea College. We couldn't be more excited to offer our students this hands-on experience, learning from experts, and applying their skills to make one-of-a-kind works of art (and math!). Thanks to their generous support, all instruction and materials are offered at no cost to students.
We can’t wait to see how these projects turn out!

Our Pirate Softball Team is kicking off the season tonight! Come out and support our players at 6:30 as they take the field for their first game against Menifee County.

We’re proud to recognize our amazing BCHS juniors for completing their State SAT School Day exam last week! This marks the first year Kentucky juniors have taken the SAT instead of the ACT during school. Students had the opportunity to send their scores to up to four colleges or universities for free, giving them a head start on that college search, and preparing them for their upcoming senior year.
To celebrate this accomplishment, our administrative team treated juniors to a well-deserved ice cream party yesterday! Students went to town making sundaes and treats and enjoying a break in their school day.
A big thank you to Dr. Neaves, Mr. Tim Molton, Ms. Christine Knight, and Board Member Ms. Sarah Rohrer for serving up the ice cream, and to Ms. Caldwell, and all our BCHS faculty and staff for preparing and supporting our students every step of the way.
Good work Juniors, we couldn't be more proud of all your hard work! 🎉
