In an effort to take student empowerment to an even higher level, our school has a group of students representing grades 3-5 who synergize to have a positive impact on students, staff, families, and the community.

National Parent Engagement Month

Parent engagement is the idea that caregivers and school staff work together to support the academic growth, social and behavioral development, and overall health of children. Here at Berea Elementary, it is what we call “The Berea Way” …partnering with you to provide whole child support around family, leadership, and excellence. We understand that you send your child(ren) to us each day for academics, but we hope you find that they are learning so much more about leading in life and are surrounded by a special school family that is an extension of home. Research shows that “parent engagement in schools is closely linked to better student behavior, higher academic achievement, and enhanced social skills” (cdc.gov/healthyyouth). This month we are excited to celebrate our partnership with all of you as we continue to connect, engage, and sustain parent engagement. We appreciate your support more than you will ever know!
